Family reunion in a rental at Lake Harmony for Christmas

We have selected a home in Lake Harmony to rent for Christmas week to entertain our family---3 generations of us. Some will ski and some will not---so we're wondering what there might be to do for those of us who will not be skiing. Also are there any super markets in this area.....our house is on Timberline Drive.

We read that the kids could maybe go to one of the inside water parks near there? How far would that be for us to drive?

Also can anyone tell us how far the Newark Airport is, as one family has to leave early so will need to get there.

Thanks for any information you can provide. We will appreciate it.

There is a food store about 15-20 mins away - Aharts Market. Also, look up Split Rock Resort (they are in the same area and have an indoor water park open to public). If you want to splurge on a more expensive water park, look up Kalahari in the Poconos or Camelbeach. I'm not sure of the drive time but it should be something like 30 mins. About 20 mins away is Casino Theatre if you are looking for something different / indoors (movie theater with an attached malt shop style restaurant that will serve food to you in the theater and also some video games-- younger crowd loves this place). In Lake Harmony is the Boulder View Tavern (great wings!), Nicks lake house, Shenanigans and also Piggys Restaurant. Split Rock Resort also has a small bowling alley, movie theater and arcade as well. Shopping outlets nearby at The Crossings in Tannersville. All of this can be googled... Have fun!!

two hours to EWR without traffic. the market mentioned is in Blakeslee. to get there go out past big boulder left on 903 and left on 115. if you drive through split rock to 940 you will pay a toll. there is also a small market on the s lake drive just past the lake on the way to big boulder

Hey BigA63!

Sorry this is a year late (I had a terrible headcold last year), but in the off chance you are headed back this year...just a few suggestions as a long time visitor to the area.

1. You MUST go to Boulder Field and walk the rocks. No excuses.

2. Grab a hot spiced wine at Boulder Tavern. Say "hi" to Rosey, the stout woman who tends bar.

3. Jim THorpe is a bad idea. Don't put your family through that.

Hope this was helpful! Happy Holidays!
