Day trips from Bristol

Hi all.

I'm looking for resources on how to get from Bristol to Stonehenge and Bath as well. I am not renting a car so I'm looking for buses I guess. Are there Coach buses or should I go the tour bus route? Which is cheaper? Thanks.

There are 4 trains per hour between Bristol and Bath, and one train to Salisbury, from where you can pick up the bus to Stonehenge (see http://www.thestonehengetour.info) .

Alternatively you can take a "Mad Max" or Scarper Tours minibus tour from Bath - this may work out cheaper (there are no tours to Stonehenge from Bristol)

Wgen are you travelling. In August there are major engineering works on the railway at Bath. There will be some service between Bristol and Bath but only replacement buses for part of the onward transport from there to Salisbury.

There is this tour and it looks from a quick squiz to be really good covering other things in the area too which you probably would find hard work doing by public transport.
