Inexpensive places to stay - early August 2018

Greetings

Looking for an inexpensive place to stay for 4-5 nights in early August, preferably with kitchen and laundry facilities. Shared washroom is fine. I'm aware of the hostel, but wondering if there are other (legal) short term rental options.

Also open for suggestions for outdoor activities and other things to in Bend around that time. Any festival or events happening August 3-8?

Thanks!

Hi! What is your price range? "Inexpensive" is a bit subjective.

It does look like a busy weekend though - at a quick glance looks like there's the Deschutes County Fair, Sunriver Quilt Show, and Cascade Lakes Relay happening that weekend. (CLR is notable if you are planning to head up Century Drive - the road will be open but there will be congestion from runners and race vehicles.)

Likely your only option would be an airbnb, in a private room in someone's home....maybe. Bend is extremely expensive year-round, but most especially in the summer.

I highly doubt you will find anything in Bend for under $100.00

Bend is very very expensive in my opinion and I live here.

One other thought is try craigslist.com for Bend under vacation rentals.

just beware but might be something to check out.

You might scan thru this...SunRiver is about 12 miles south of Bend

easy access and lots to explore in and around or even on your way to town.

Thanks!

There are quite a few AirBnB options under $100 -- might look into those, but I want to make sure those are legal. Given the issues with the scarcity of housing in the Rockies, I'm sensitive to ensuring that I pick accommodation choices that don't adversely affect the local, longer-term housing market.

Thanks for the advice!

Have booked the hostel, and am looking forward to my trip. Hoping to mix climbing days with some hiking and mountain biking.

ksneds, MAHALO NUI for your conscientious approach to choosing lodgings and avoiding illegal vacation rentals! It's a huge, huge problem here in Hawaii and I'm always so very grateful when a traveler like you comes along :-)

Bend has a hostel? I’ve lived here over a decade and didn’t know this. Where is it?
