Okay PIB is not Key West...but great little island with lots of bars, bands & bodacious party-goers. Also some really nice locals who will make vacationers feel right at home. This was said to be "Key West Days", but most bartenders we spoke with said it was just another weekend & so it seemed with nothing actually specially planned--- crowded but not toooo crazy. Stayed at the Commodore Resort which is centrally located & crowded, but room was fine & clean with a late night Subway...convenient. I'll do reviews on most places I mention. We did the Round House several times afternoon & evening...Saw Mad Dog a few times...fun! Had the Chicken Patio wine basted chicken first night for a quick dinner. Cruised to the Boardwalk Restaurant one afternoon for a beer & some yummy pretzels. Mojito Bay was a go to several times during our visit. Caught Ray Fogg at the Reel Bar which was also pretty funny & irreverent. Did get a burrito at Big Man Burrito Bar which was tucked away in rear of Frosty's. Had a great cocktail in the Park Hotel's Red Lounge...neat dark speakeasy place...good break from outside action. The Lake Erie Historical Museum was very nice & more people should do the self guided tour ---it is only like $8 per adult & worth it. Hit the Re-Sale shop behind the museum & purchased a few "finds" to take home. Hit the longest bar for music & beer. Fantastic dinner overlooking bay at the upper deck. U.S. Brig Niagara in port. Heinerman Winery was a nice spot to drink a flight of tasty wine in lovely setting.Joined up with the local car club, as we had a 58 MGA with us and we were welcomed by their group & invited to join the parade thru town...great time & even nicer folks! Wanted a Cuban Sandwhich from Topsy Turvey but Sunday eve they had an employee appreciation thing so no food... Went to the Forge late night Sunday for a cool time in the backyard. Needed that Cuban --- so got the breakfast Cuban Monday morning at Topsy Turvey with the scrambled egg on the side before heading for the Ferry. maybe not Key West but PIB was a great place for a fun filled long weekend! Would love to return.
