Does anyone know any cheap transfer / taxi companies to take 9 people from Gatwick airport to Margate.
Nothing will be cheap as it is a very long way, about 130km.
Just search gatwick airport transfers to get names and websites for prices.
You can go by train and not through London for about £22 but it's not direct and it is slow, around 3 hours total. The quickest way (but only 30 minutes or so quicker) through London costs around £50.
Not only is it a long way but nine people need either two vehicles, at least one a people-carrier, or a larger vehicle whose driver has to have a D1 driving licence. It will probably be difficult to find the latter, so you will need two vehicles.
I'd agree with skitandoori A google search for mini cabs/taxi firms in Margate will provide the contact details of local firms, who will usually have a set charge for the airport run.. Some firms have min vans large enough for 9 people and luggage.
The firm will need to know your mobile phone number & which terminal you are arriving into ( G north or G south) plus your flight number. They'll also advise on payment method, as most firms now accept credit & debit card payments.
It's a long drive down to Margate, so suggest you use the airport facilities before you leave Gatwick & possibly buy something to drink too.
The train route will take hours & with 9 people may be more expensive than a mini van.
