Are there pubs which cater for children which are not too expensive?
Hi,
Generally over there it depends on the kind of pub and the kind of food you want, for example in Newpor, there is a pub almost next door to McDonalds which is reasonabely priced english food, and are children friendly there's also one on the sea front at Ryde I think, but just be warned some places might not have easy buggy access if you need it, and the cliff lift, does charge everyone it seems apart from disabled oddly.
I will add though most places are very family friendly and accomdating over there, it's just a case of taking your pick.
The Bugle Inn Brading and Caulkheads in Sandown, both have good play facilities for children
Just noticed you posted this to the Yarmouth forum, so guess you are looking for places in West Wight.
Edited: 9 years agoYarmouth itself tends to cater for the yachtie crowd, not very child friendly.
Check out the Horse and Groom at Ningwood;

On the other side of the island, the Wight Mouse Inn is always popular;
My kids also liked The Griffin in Godshill - nice big garden and maze for them to run around in, reasonably priced grub too.
Have a look at iowtouristcard.com - they have a good selection of pubs in their scheme and some are offering free children's meals.
Sorry published this in Yarmouth forum by mistake. We are staying near Brading
Well in that case, The Bugle and Caulkheads should be perfect for you
You could also consider the Wight Mouse Inn - large pub and very family friendly.
We tried the Griffin in Godshill last year. Lots of space outside (play area, maze) for the children. Food was nice as I recall. High end pub food.
The Chequers, just outside Rookley has fantastic playground equipment. A family friendly menu and prices OK. The burgers are good! Could be a bit draughty in the garden if the wind is blowing.
