Travelling to mawlinnong

Has anyone stayed at the Home-stay of Mr. Ember Klamet at Maylinnong village, Meghalaya? How is the experience? How is the person?

I haven't personally stayed there. But in Mawlynnong, the hosts of most homestays are welcoming & friendly. charges are slightly expensive in Mawlynnong, though.

He had two rooms for guests in his home, but doesn't host guests anymore (when I stayed at his place in Oct 2015).

He arranges accommodation for tourists in other guesthouses in the village.

Double bedded rooms : 1500-2k

Traditional Huts are more expensive.

Most homestays in the village have 2 rooms. If you take both, you get a better discount.

With its popularity rising, greed has seeped in amongst some villagers. So although you might be quoted an exorbitant amount, hold your ground and bargain hard.

Rates have increased now due to too many tourists. Even the ordinary ones charge Rs.2000 (which are very basic).
