reliability of Air India flights to Shillong in 2017

Hi I have come across several reports of Kolkata Shillong flights getting cancelled. Can anybody tell whats the status now. all reviews are before 2016. Shillong airport probably installed Transponder Landing System recently improving landing in bad weather. I am travelling to shillong in october 2017.

Personally, the Guwahati Airport is a preferable option as the distance onwards to Shillong isn't too far, and the roads are in good shape as well.

Weather wise, it should not be a problem in Oct. But flights often get canceled if there are few passengers.

Better to fly from Guwahati airport, more flight options.

Hi,

I have already booked my flight to Shillong in last week of March. Do Shillong flights get cancelled in March? In case if the flights are cancelled, do they provide an alternate flight to Guwahati.

Regards,

Sudesh

Flights can also get canceled if there are only few passengers.

There are direct Guwahati-Mumbai flights, that would be more convenient for you than flying to Shillong via Kolkata.
