Gordon Sq Arts district

Our go to neighborhood stroll with out of town visitors has been Coventry. Should I stick with it or try Gordon Sq. Looking at the website it would seem that unless we were planning to go to CPT there's not much variety.

There are a lot of great restaurants in Gordon Square now, but not a lot else besides CPT in terms of arts and other things to do. Luxe, Happy Dog, Reddstone, XYZ the Tavern, Gypsy Beans (coffee shop), Sweet Moses (ice cream), Parkview Tavern and the soon to open Spice restaurant. If you're looking for stores/shops, not a lot there yet but it is up and coming as an area.

Yeah, I've looked around both neighborhoods. Went to a couple interesting stores last summer in Gordon Square, but there is far more in Coventry.

Ended up giving the Waterloo area try. Great finds in Music Saves and Blue Arrow records - crazy selections - spoken word, movie sound tracks, lots of "off the beaten track" contemporary stuff plus more mainstream like The Black Keys. Found cool vintage Hallow'een decorations at This Way Out in the basement of the Beachland Ballroom. Out of town visitors and my own kids who are usually away at college stocked up on Cleveland specific gear at C.L.E. Clothing. Unfortunately the Yo Yo clubhouse was closed due to recent burglery but we got good pics in front of it. Lastly, Star Pop is emerging as a good alternative to Big Fun for similar goodies. All in all a strong recommendation for the whole scene.

The West Side Market is the place to go. The area has really changed and has added many place to eat, drink, & be merry. Very close to Tremont & you could also do the Gordon Square area as well since all are within 5-10 minutes of each other. Much better than Coventry.
