hotel deals at OBX after Irene?

Looking to get away for Labor Day weekend. Wondering if anyone has seen any discounted hotel rates in the wake of the hurricane.

Thanks!

Don't think this stuff just gets magically fixed over-night.

A local representative spoke on TV this morning, it may be weeks before all power is restored in the area.

You'd better look further south for Labor Day, and I wouldn't expect to find many if any deals, Labor Day weekend is summer's last big weekend, places have been booked for months, plus there will be many who had Labor Day reservations in effected areas who'll be looking to reschedule further south.

Really. I watched coverage of the hurricane. Power outages in Kill Devil Hills seemed sporadic. Labor Day weekend still 5 days away. Can't hurt to ask.

hopefully they are fully booked already as would be typical for LD weekend and nobody has canceled. that's probably snarky but can't hurt to give an opinion. :)

If anyone can be open by Labor Day, they don't know it yet. Better to follow area updates on the Nags Head/ OBX websites this week to see if there is any chance of Labor Day at OBX. Asking now is very premature.

Are you serious? People on the OBX are stuggling to get their lives back to normal and all you care about is a good hotel deal? Good luck with that.

No need to try to take Hwy 12 south of Nags Head. Many parts of it were washed away. So, no...you can not visit the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

Check out this video and you might understand:

If you must go to the beach for Labor Day, I would go much further south: maybe Myrtle Beach will have some "deals" for you.

Check out the Ocean Isle Inn in Ocean Isle Beach. They were very lucky and didn't get any damage. The beach still looks beautiful as always.

Sray, I can't imagine that you mean to take advantage of others' misfortune, but your request for "discounted hotel rates in the wake of the hurricane" does sound a little cold and heartless.

Perhaps your words did not properly convey your intended meaning.
