I think there are a lot of companies that are similar with similar prices.
We did a catamaran trip to the small islands in the north. We booked through a tour company in Grand Baie.
We thought that a lot of the boats were much about the same.
The only one that was different was the catamaran operated by the hotel group we were staying in. It was smaller and faster.
Will you be staying near Grand Baie as you posted on Grand Baie forum?
If north there are a few companies based in Grand Baie:
If in Grand Baie shop around once you arrive as all the tour operators in the village sell the same excursions. They have printed price lists available so pick up as many as possible and then compare prices. Should be around Rs1200 per person for the full day tour to the northern islands (Gabrielle and Flat). This includes lunch and all drinks on board. Don't book through the tour company reps at your hotel as they are far more expensive than booking through the guys in Grand Baie.
Thank you
Yes we will be in Grand Baie .. iv been doing some research and they all seem to go to the same place but offer different experiences judging by reviews left of revellers
I suppose the different reviews could also be down to people's expectations. Basically it's a fun filled day out with a braai on board when anchored off the islands where you can snorkel or go for a walk on the island. We prefer to stay on the boat and do some snorkeling.
Hi!
Not sure which one to pick but
avoid this one: http://mauritiusileauxcerfs.com/ !
They claim having a traveller`s choice award but they don´t. Ended up having 2.5 hours shorter trip what was promised. They picked us up almost 2 hours late and blaimed the traffic and not finding our house. Only got to spend 1 hour on the island and were forced to pay the full price! The crew at the catamaran was good but other than that...Avoid them would be my advice!
Thank you I’ll make a note of that
Just had a search for that one on TA and its gone on holiday - ie no longer listed by TA.
