Train passes - Munich, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Zurich

We are leaving in a week or so and have been looking at the best rail passes to get for our trip. It's going to be a fast 5 days but our plan is to get from Munich to Zurich with stops in Salzburg and Innsbruck.

Is there a 5 day multi country pass that would work for this?

Does anyone know if it would be less expensive to get tickets on line or at the train station?

What is the best way to navigate this?

Any ideas or suggestions would be very appreciated.

check out www.seat61.com for all the low down on rail passes (and why they are generally not good value) and everything else you need to know about train travel in Europe

you can go from Munich to Salzburg using a Bayern ticket - 24euro for the first person and +4 for each additional passenger
