Interstate 90 will take you all the way to Buffalo, then its only another 20-25 miles to Niagara Falls. Not sure about the best stopping point, though.
Every mapping software is saying that taking 94E to 69N is faster than driving to the south of Lake Erie on 90E. Any thoughts?
That option may be a little shorter and, in theory, a little quicker, but it doesn't account for a couple of things:
1. Crossing the border at Port Huron/Sarnia. There is just one bridge so, if it is very busy as it usually is, wait times could be very long. Crossing at Niagara gives you 3 bridge options to choose from. Calling 1-800-715-6722 will tell you which crossing has the least wait time.
2. The north route takes you on 7 different highways (94,69 and 402, 401, 403, LAP/RHVP, QEW in Canada)as opposed to 2 on the south route (90, 190).
The north route may seem shorter, but the south route could actually be quicker and will definately be an easier drive.
