Newburgh, New York is a medium sized Hudson Riverfront city about 70 miles or an hour and a half north of Manhattan. It's not really a top tourist destination, but depending on your interests there is a lot of revolutionary war history in the area. If you're a biker, Newburgh is also the new home of Orange County Choppers, and they have a big facility there right off the New York State Thuway(I-87).

Newburgh is easily reached by driving straight up the Thruway, by bus from New York's Port Authority Terminal, and by Metro-North's commuter railroad.
