Paved bike trails?

I'm wondering if it would be worth it to bring our bikes from DFW when we travel by car in August. We would be interested in riding paved trails since we have younger kids, not off-road trails. Are there any/many paved trails in and around Cloudcroft?

Cloudcroft is a picturesque, but tiny village. Even the side streets are dirt. Great riding opportunities for Mountain Biking in the area, but all off-road. You might want to consider Ruidoso too. Much more developed, and many summer activities for kids.

No way to determine "better" - it's different. Cloudcroft is a very small town, as mentioned and Ruidoso is not. Ruidoso's claim to fame when I lived in NM was the horse racing in the summer and downhill skiing in the winter. Cloudcroft had neither. Check out their websites for more information.
