Marquis De Lafayette Hotel or another suggestion?

Any comments about staying in a standard room (floor 2 or 3) vs. a suite (floors 2-5)? We don't have a pet. Traveling as couple with one teen daughter. Looking for best April visit to Cape May possible but only have one night. Thanks

Sure it would be fine. If only there for one night, would not be spending too much time in room.

Marquis is a great place for a one night stay. It is one of the few that will do it, for one thing. And since it is so centrally located you don't waste your precious time, also don't waste time looking for parking. I personally like the suites a lot more than the single rooms. The sixth floor suites are the best, the fifth floor has dropped ceilings so although the view is great it has more of a cozy feel that you may or may not like (still has room for ceiling fans). So if you don't want to spring for the sixth floor penthouse suites, go for the fourth floor, higher number rooms have better views. All suites and rooms have full ocean view balconies. You will be fine if you decide to save money and stay in a single room. They have not been upgraded as recently as the suites, but they are workable, still have microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. And breakfast buffet is great.
