Rumor has it that higher denominations have a higher payout than lower.

And that off-Strip (locals) places will have higher payouts than the Strip

And that machines that don't have to pay licensing fees to The Hangover and The Wizard Of Oz, etc will have higher payouts than those that do.

But truth is that this is all just guessing....

Blagger, could I get that list. LOL

But seriously, I try to play a lot of the 3 reel slots in Vegas. I think they pay better than the video "bonus round" slots. JMO

When I have a choice of 2 machines the one I don't pick - seriously I was about to sit at a bank of video poker machines on my last trip with 2 empty machines, I didn't win at my machine but the guy who sat at the other just couldn't stop (and I know it's all random).

There is no way to identify what the specific payback percentage is for anyone game. You can find stats on the net of what some games have paid out. But those stats are typically just averages and not particularly relevant to what they are currently set at.

Some of the posts on here are correct typically higher denominations offer better payback percentages then lower denominations. But it is important to keep your bankroll size in mind. No point in playing $5 or even $1 slots if you can only afford to put $100 into them. You're money will likely be gone in less then 10 minutes not to fun if you ask me. It would be better to play .25 slots with a maximum bet of $1.25 you'll get more time playing them and have more fun which is the goal correct? It also will give you more exposure to the odds which gives you more chances to win.

Another important aspect of slot machines is Volatility. Some of the games being produced are insanely high volatility. You are not likely to win on these games but it is possible to win VERY large amounts of money with a small bet. How do you identify high volatility slots? The higher the potential top pay out is in terms of a multiplier of your bet, the higher the volatility the game. Example if the game can potentially pay 20,000x your bet it's one of the most volatile games on the casino floor. It's very unlikely for you to hit that 20,000x your bet. VS a game with a top potential pay out of let's say 2000x your bet.

I will not play most penny and nickel games produced by IGT. I just have not been able to win any decent amounts of money playing them. They produce a few titles I will play but not many. I will play their high limit slots they are 3 reel mechanical games such as Triple Diamond, 5x pay, 10x pay, top dollar and other like games.

Some great low volatility penny games. Colossal Reels. I love them they have hit a perfect balance between low volatility and high. I get great play time on average for the amount of cash I put in them and they do occasionally produce decent wins. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory.

High Volatility Wicked Winnings 2, Robin Hood and the Golden Arrow, Awesome Reels by WMS (these are insanely volatile), Great Eagle Returns and other similar games.

In all honesty play what you ENJOY and interests you. You could walk up to games I wont touch and win bucket loads of money on them. But the above gives you some general idea. if you have questions about slots feel free to ask.. I know a lot about them.
