September entertainment, why are so many shows dark?

We will be there the weekend of Sept 15th and it seems that every show I check on is dark that weekend. I am not interested in any Cirque shows, and have already done Absinthe and Terry Fator. We are looking for some fun for one night. I checked Carrot Top, Jersey Boys, and Purple Reign. No luck. What gives? I know there are others, but these were top on my list that we haven't seen.

CarrotTop is almost never booked out more than 60 days -- check again in a couple weeks.

JerseyBoys may not be renewed - they are booked through August, but given the steep discounting going on right now, it could be the end of that show (they moved to Paris casino a few months ago). Keep your fingers crossed.

Likely Purple Reign is in the same category as CT - likely they don't get booked out more than 60 days, maybe up to 90. Same would be true for P&T, for example.

Hey Tex, we will be there same weekend as you! I looked into some of those too and was finding that their run wasn't looking to continue into Sept. How was Absinthe, btw? It was my husbands top choice but I thought being in the tent might be too hot.

I noticed this too. When I looked at what's playing the weekend of September 8th, the choices were VERY limited compared to the usual. Even only a couple of the Cirques are on. LeReve is on when I'm there, so possibly I'll go to that, since people recommend it so highly.

@Perry. Cool, maybe we will see you around.....and not even know it!

We loved Absinthe. Saw it last year though and I have read that they changed how they do their seating. When we went we bought VIP and got to hang out in this cool, wierd bar/lounge area an hour before the show started. They let the VIP people in first and we could literally choose any seat we wanted. Now, I think they have reserved seating. That won't take away from the show, just its uniqueness. The tent is a small tent that is air conditioned. It's like one that a local circus would use. The acts are amazing. The characters between the acts are funny at times and not so funny at others. I would says it's R rated even though some reviews might lead you to believe it's X rated. They definitely are not PC as they will pick some stooges out of the crowd and make fun of them. We laughed pretty hard, as did the "stooges"! To me it's a must see.
