Group meeting place

Hello, first-time poster but have been "lurking" for awhile. Great advice and tips!

I am going to Vegas with group of 12-15 family members at the end of next month. We are coming in on different flights from different cities and staying at 3 different hotels. I'd like to arrange a get-together for the evening that we all arrive. I'm thinking a lobby bar - a place where people can sit around and chat, and order drinks or light appetizers if they so choose, but not an acutal restaurant where we have to make reservations. More like a place where people can drop in, say hi to everyone, and be on their way if they want. Any ideas? Thanks.

Most hotels have the sort of thing you are looking for. If you tell us where everyone is staying, even if you are spread out, it will give us a better chance of giving you a best fit suggestion.

Regardless, if it was me, I'd meet on the Strip dead centre in front of the Bellagio fountains. What a great meeting place...

8 people are staying at the Mirage, 2 at I.P., and 2 at the Flamingo.

Bellagio fountains would be a good idea, depending on the weather of course. :)

Rhumbar at Mirage is very nice. It's outside, so it'd depend on the weather

You're going to want to visit Bellagio anyway; the Petrossian bar just off the lobby is beautiful, with great people watching views of the lobby and casino.

Ditto ....... Rhumbar.

Or, Margaritaville would also work.

Well, Bellagio is pretty well located for those three hotels. So go with the bar Dave suggested or my idea of the fountains. What are you worried about with the weather? Bad or too good? It's incredibly unlikely to be bad.

Alternatively stick with Rhumbar because it's the place most of you are closest too.

But be more aware of where you want to end up - what restaurant, what show, what casino - than where you are all starting. If it's Bellagio or MGM or Planet Hollywood then it's daft to meet at Mirage.

I guess you're going to have this problem two or three times a day, not just once during the whole trip... good luck!

Thank you so much for your responses. Rhumbar sounds right up my alley! And yes, LDN, I think meeting places will be a constant theme for this trip... :-/

Keep an eye out for good ones throughout. And don't be scared when you see one to announce to the group that you're meeting here later! hehe
