Best cheaper strip hotel rooms?

Looking for something for a late spring trip. I'm considering Flamingo, Harrahs or Ballys at the moment, but would be open to suggestions. Looking for a clean room, not run down and not smoky smelling. Ty

All 3 of those work, but we all have some bias, My bias would be Harrahs for value

I feel that treasure island has the best low cost rooms on the strip.

Excalibur widescreen rooms! Comfiest beds, clean, refurbished, cheap strip view rooms :-)

I think Harrahs is a solid room choice, but it has a very smoky casino.

Of those 3, Bally's has the best rooms, Flamingo the best pool and grounds,

I like Flamingo the best, but I'd go for a Go-Room.

Be sure to check the price of the rooms you mentioned against Tropicana and Treasure Island. Their rooms are nicer and more recently updated, and you can find good deals at both. The widescreen rooms at ExCal look nice for the price but I've never stayed in one.

OK...Excal casino is NOT very nice if rooms are decent. TI, Trop & Excal price is actually higher than advertised due to the daily resort fees each of these add on.

I have stayed at these 3 as well as the 3 you first mentioned.

I would suggest:

Ballys/Harrahs--really, equal footing. Harrahs rooms overall are updated while only Ballys north tower is, tho Ballys rooms are larger. Ballys has slightly more central location. Ballys pool tends to have a bit of a party atmosphere compared to Harrahs

Flamingo--best pool by far, but also will be the most crowded; we stayed in a GO room a couple years ago. GO room is smallest of 3 but nicely done; but we had issues w/ cleanliness in the all (major ick factor) & I have seen numerous reviews mentioning this over the last few years; even DH would rather stay at Ballys or Harrahs

Ballys & Harrahs are both very solid midrange hotels on the strip. They are where we stay most often.

PS if you give us your exact dates we could be more helpful

The basic rooms in Flamingo, Harrahs or Ballys are all run down rooms. That's one of the reasons they are all cheap. If you're going cheap and don't want run down, consider the Super 8 at Ellis Island. It has new refurbished rooms.

Harrahs or Bills and no resort fees.
