Storing luggage after check out.

Hi,

Hotel check out is at 11:00 am , our flight doesn't leave until 10:00 pm. Are the hotels accomodating with holding luggage for a time after check out ? We' d like to walk around a bit and grab a bite to eat before heading to the airport.

Appreciate the help, we're first timers to Las Vegas in October.

The bell desk at any of the hotels will be happy to hold your luggage until you're ready to head for the airport.

Just remember to tip when you pick them up!

Have fun :)

We always do this. As Zafiragirl said, if you just take your luggage up to the bell desk when you check out (in the lobby), they will happily store your luggage for you at no cost. There is some disagreement about whether you should leave a tip when you drop off your bags or when you pick them up or both. Usually $1-$2 per bag is customary.

I take late flights as well, and got into the habit of booking the room and extra night, so you are not "homeless" . Much better than storing bags, and you can shower, nap and such before heading to the airport.

Absolutely!! Just take your luggage to the bell desk, or they may be located outside. They will take it, tag it, and give you the stubs. They usually ask what time you will be needing to pick up. At Paris, they are on the ball. When we come back to get it, it's there in a flash and they put us right in a cab, don't even have to wait in line.

For sure tip! I give $2 a bag.

Some of the hotels (Wynn/Encore did at one time, anyway) have an extra-late check out option. I think at Encore last year it was around $90 to extend out check-out to midnight. Theoretically if cheaper hotels offer it I would think it would be cheaper.

That being said, we always leave our bags at the bell desk with no problems.

You don't have to a guest at any hotel in order to leave anything- luggage, bags, jackets- at any bell desk. Tip when you get your things back.

You can also try calling the front desk the morning of departure. You may be able to get a late check out. Some hotels charge half the daily rate for a 6PM check out if there are rooms available.

Or do what oxy suggests and reserve the room for that night so you can take a shower and rest before heading for the airport.

Thanks to all of you for your help. To get the air fare down to half the national debt amount we are taking a red eye back to Pa. Plan on getting to the airport a couple hours before take off so we can have that last fond memory of our money leaving us in the airport slots.

Harrahs offers a service called 'bags to go' that'll cost you some cash (I think it's $10/bag) but allow you to check into your flight and check your bags at the hotel. They ship the bags off to the airport and you don't have to worry about them.

Not too sure how well it works but it sounds convenient.
