Large suites for 6-10 people?

A group of us will be visiting Las Vegas in May/June 2010. I'd like to know which, if any, hotels have suites large enough to accommodate 6 to 10 people. The Marriott's Grand Chateau has 3 bedroom villas that would be ideal, but I've read that these are not available to anyone but timeshare holders. Is this true? What other options are there? Thank you in advance.

Very few if any conventional hotels will have accommodations as large as what you're look for. Your best bet is probably to rent a large condo or other property from its owner.

Why is it necessary to put everyone in one suite? Even if possible, it will cost you a fortune. Wouldn't it make more sense just to get a few adjoining rooms? You could get one large suite with a separate bedroom/living room and a couple of regular rooms so that you have some space for everyone to congregate.

Another factor to consider is the bathroom situation. Even large suites often have only one full bath and one half-bath (Toilet and sink, no shower or bathtub). Even if you get lucky to find one with two full baths, you're still looking at up to 10 people sharing. Not my idea of a fun trip.

Hotel rooms are usually quite inexpensive in Las Vegas if you plan in advance. It might be a better idea to get 3-4 rooms for the group. Or as someone suggested, get one larger suite to hang out in and also book 2 or 3 "regular" rooms at the same property.

As with most timeshare properties non owners are usually able to rent excess inventory. If you are interested go to the Marriott site and click on vacation club search or better yet call to see exactly what's available.

Like everyone has said rooms are cheap in Vegas and that might be your best option. Although it's still too early for any discount prices on rooms for May. Multiple rooms means multiple bathrooms and staying in a hotel you will have a casino on site. (more of a "Vegas" experience). Thats one of the reasons I never stay in a timeshare in Vegas. Although the Marriott does looks very nice.

Thank you for your replies. I had no idea that it would be so difficult to find such an accommodation. Which hotels would you recommend for the nicest suites? We did book a suite and adjoining room once at The Luxor and had a great time, but looking at recent reviews I can see that they are having a bedbug problem. If it weren't for that we would have chosen to do the same this time around. Being a person that's terrified of bedbugs I always have to make sure there are no bedbugs at any hotel I stay at. Surprisingly it seems that many of the popular hotels in Vegas have that problem. Those darn bedbugs are a plague.

Even the very best hotels can get bedbugs. It's an unfortunate fact of travel. I wouldn't read too much into a few reviews of one property when the thousands of rooms that are constantly in use are taken into account.

What roughly is your budget per night for accommodation?

Every hotel in Vegas has had bedbugs at one time or another, so I wouldn't base your decision on that. Last year I stayed at Monte Carlo only weeks after they had a bedbug problem and I had no problem at all.

MGM Grand is a good choice for relatively inexpensive suites.

Anyone can book Marriott's Grand Chateau through their website (www.marriott.com). Their larger units are significantly cheaper than comparable casino hotel suites (in terms of how many it can sleep.)

Their rates are also for the total number of people the unit can actually sleep (i.e. they don't charge extra for over 2 people in a room like many casino hotels do.)

Blagger and Stratton. This poor woman has taken very, very isolated incidents and blown them into a full scale paranoia re: bed bugs. Your responses will be seen by her as confirming bed bugs are everywhere. Taken as an odds bet, the chances are better she'll hit triple blazing sevens progressive.

We are hoping to find something for $50-$60 per person per night, and are expecting to have a group of at least 6 people, but it will most likely be more than that.

Blagger & Stratton: Thanks for easing my fears. I'm guessing, or at least hoping that any decent hotel will close down the infested rooms and deal with the issue before reopening them to guests. I know that bedbugs reproduce quickly and spread fast. They are also very difficult to get rid of so they must be dealt with immediately and with full force. That's why I've been hesitant to stay at a hotel reported to have them.

DetTigerFan: I'm very glad to hear that. It is definitely our first choice and I calculated the cost at about $50 per person, per night for 6 people. Very affordable. I just hope they will have the availability during that time.
