If you are talking about rates, Las Vegas doesn't have a "peak season" it has peak weeks. Or more acurately often peak days or weekends. Speaking of weekends, all Friday and Saturday nights cost twice as much as Sun-Thursday. And in the case of special events even worse.

If you are talking about weather, there are 2 peak seasons. One starts today and lasts for about 3-4 weeks, then it becomes too hot for many. The next "peak season" starts the end of September and runs through most of October.

This doesn't mean the rates are higher at these times, but it is more likely. It is also more likely that you can find lower rates in winter, but don't take it for granted.

if it's price you are wondering about, meaning when are they lower than at other times........Vegas is different than most anywhere else, there really is no 'off' season, maybe a few days or a week here and there throughout the year. Less expensive times are:

The last Monday of May is a holiday in the US, just like you have the late May bank holiday. That weekend isn't a good time to go to Vegas, but if you arrive on that Monday itself, rates will be down for Mon til Friday of that week. The first week of June is also a good time.

The first Monday of Sept is a US holiday, go on that day and just like the May one, the rates should be good until that Friday.

The 4th Thurs of November is a holiday in the US so it and that weekend are busy times. However, the weekend before and up until and including that day (4th Thurs) rates should be good. They are always good starting on the Sunday of that weekend, the day everyone leaves and are good through the next week most of the time.

The two weeks before and through Christmas are also a good time to go and it's usually good til around Dec 28-29.

Since you are in England, weather wise you'd like it most anytime in Vegas other than mid June through early Sept, it's extremely hot during that time and for someone from the UK, you'd most likely hate it because of the heat. Weatherwise, April and Oct are by far the best months IMO.

The post about no peak season versus peak weeks is correct. Vegas is driven more by conventions and special events like Superbowl, New Year's etc.

There is a website that shows average daily visitor counts by month using the LVCVA numbers. March and April tend to have the most visitors per day while December is the least crowded at under 100,000.

Vegas is always busy but, some of the busier times are Superbowl weekend, Memorial Day weekend, March Madness, and New Year's Eve. There are also a few huge conventions during the year such as CES, that is extremely busy.

If you want to go during a slower time, go a couple of weeks before Christmas, which is probably the slowest time in Vegas.
