Resort fees explained

So many people complain about resort fees, but there is a reason for them. The hotels for their ratings are lower than most and offer more than most other spots. Resort fees even it out, now as to why they do it that way. Most people book through travel sites and they take a 10% cut of the price, so hotels lower the price and they charge a resort fee to get the full price of the rest. So understand why they exist and realize these rooms are still deals.

Try going to Miami, new Orleans, any other major resort area and find rooms the rates vegas advertises, hint you won't

Whats the reason for paying resort fees on a so called comped room?

Tropicana, M Resort, and station casinos, and im sure there are others, dont charge resort fees on comped stays. Mgm and cet still charge fees on comps

I’m so confused on the original posters comments , I’m thinking they work for a hotel. Lol. As well comping comes in different levels. I’m fully comped room good beverage and resort fees at Mlife. I guess if you spend enough all is comped 😬

Well, that's certainly not how resort fees were explained to me.

I'd been led to believe that the reason for resort fees is because the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

It isn't confusing, if most people buy off a site that takes 10% and you can lower the price and get the rest without taking 10% comp you would have to be the worst business man in the world not to do it.

I don't think rewriting this in English would help.

reread it and rating was supposed to be rates, but other than that it is pretty basic.
