Just got back from staying at Sam's Town. The rooms are nice and clean but some are remodeled and some are not. They do have a issue of having really cold air flowing into the room. Mine was a bit warm and humid but tolerable. I asked for a portable fridge which are free to use but they were all issued out. You should have better luck getting one on a week day. The VP bar called Roxy's is a lot of fun. The have a stage and live bands on Friday & Saturday. They also have 1 dollar hot dogs and 4 buck wings that are really good at the bar. Just ask the bar tender. Only ate at the Buffet for breakfeast twice - had comps and it was okay. You can easily walk across the street to the Resorts and Hollywood casinos for a change of pace. I felt the slots were a bit tighter than normal. Moving around had no effect on changing anything. Their comps are easy to earn and they have daily promos so check their players club out. The other casinos you have to drive to since they are all not close together. I had a great time and hope you do.

All good information from Johncasino. Here's a link to some comments made to another poster planning their first trip to Tunica.
