home decor shops

I am interested in looking at decorative items and accent pieces for the home. I am not interested in antiques or typical furniture stores, I have enjoyed browsing in stores such as Z Galleries, Homegoods, and West Elm, but I am sure that there are local stores that I don't know about. Can you suggest any others? Thank you

Which part of the state are you wanting to look at?

I will be in the west, southwest area of Minneapolis, but I can use the trusty GPS to find places in other sections of the city. :)

50th and France area of Edina? I don't get that way too often so can't comment on specific stores, but that would seem to be an area that would have boutique shops and home decor. Perhaps someone more familiar with the area can offer specifics.

Thanks, everyone. I am still hoping for local, rather than chain stores, so citygal's suggestions sound promising and maybe that Edina area. Can you think of any others?

Boy, this is not my specialty. One that came to mind was Vivid in the Bryn Mawr area of Minneapolis (west of downtown).

Luxury boutique store for home furnishings.

Maybe Gabbert's in the Galleria. I know it's locally owned at elast.

And Room and Board (in Edina near but not in the Galleria) is locally owned but does have out of state locations.

50th and France sure seems like a good location to find this type of store but I don't know of any places myself./

There are several shops in Galleria Mall. One that is outstanding is Ampersand.

There is also Gabbert's. If you could take a few hours and just wonder around, you will find much of interest. There are chains there also like Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel.
