Fishing in Minneapolis

Going to be in Minneapolis for conference in late June. My husband would love to find a place to go fishing that provides the equipment. I can't seem to find anything searching TripAdvisor. Any options in the city itself?

Anyway if you are not wanting to spend money on a guide and wants to go on a boat he can rent a canoe at

https:/…

I would just go to Wal-Mart and buy a cheap rod reel combo and some bass jigs then when leaving give it to a kid or take it home with you.

You can fish that lake from shore and do well too

What are the dates of your trip?

You can rent boats on Lake Minnetonka or St Croix River, my husband and his friends love going to those places

Thanks. The websites I found about the lakes didn't mention fishing so this is good news. We'll be there in a week.

I would recommend Fishing with one of the awesome guides on Lake Minnetonka. It’s a 20 minute drive from downtown Minneapolis and is one of the premier fisheries in the entire country for bass, Muskie and walleye as well as panfish. Travis Frank with Trophy Encounters is one of the best and is frequently featured on outdoors shows like Minnesota Bound. His website is http://trophyencounters.com/services/

The experience he offers will be a lifelong memory for your husband and he can work around whatever plans you guys have.

If you are interested in guides check out Charley Gierk from http://www.croixsippi.com/

The St. Croix is an excellent walleye river and river smallmouth bass are no doubt an exciting fish to catch in Minnesota.
