Is the parking in Freeport free? We are staying at the Hampton so will likely walk if the weather is nice, but if the parking is free we will probably just drive
Yes, parking is free. There are several lots on both sides of the main street and also a parking garage on the south side of the street.
Yes parking is free but there are two things to be aware of:
1. Street parking near stores is generally limited to 15 or 30 minutes, and sometimes enforcement is, shall we say, aggressive, so it isn't a good idea to push it. Use the large lot at L.L. Bean, the underground parking at Freeport Village Station, or the other open air lots.
2. The Hampton is almost 2 miles from L.L. Bean.
The LL Bean lot is a perfect location right int he middle of town. Just get there early because it does fill up, especially in the summer.
