I am heading to Chicago tonight, so I could use some help by 3:00 p.m. est.- I need to find a shoe store, that carries, large sizes and wide widths. Would there be any in downtown-or do I have to go somewhere on the train? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are going to have to go downtown Chicago for that if your means of transport is public transport. In downtown Deerfield where the train lets off there are a few resturants and botique stores mainly. I can't think of any specialized shoe stores there. The stores there are mainly for petite women too like Ann Talyor.

There might be some option at Northbrook Court or down at the stip-mall at the corner of Lake-Cook and Waukegan. However, that is a long, long walk if you don't have a car.

I am guessing that you are female with a moniker of mimibrow. However, if you happen to be male, I would check the Men's Wharehouse downtown. I know they carry shoes, but being a plus sized man, I have had to pick a few shirts up there when I have had stufff spilled on mine. Also, maybe someone could give you a ride to Vernon Hills as there is Casual Male XL there.

In Deerfield Mall on Waukegan Road

866-444-1410 limited selection, but you did post under "Deerfield" so I assume that's where you're staying.

My next suggestion would be Nordstrom's at Old Orchard Mall. If you are driving, it's right off the I-94 expressway at Ild Orchard Road, the north end of Skokie.

In the city, try Lori's shoes in Lincoln Park. http://www.lorisshoes.com
