heaven found in stanley idaho

We just decided to go to Stanley Idaho to check out the Sawtooth Hotel for dinner, run by the wonderful folks at the Stanley Bakery, and wow...

They have done a fabulous job with that old Hotel, and saved it's beauty. The deck is open and the view can't be beat. We started with a curried quinoa salad, with currants and pistachios, served over spinach, and a beet salad to die for.

Dinner was a fafel, yogurt something, pita, tabouli, and more. For dessert, we had this wonderful "ice box" cake, of light frozen lemon, with a ginger snap crust...i just can't wait to go back...and who was there waiting on all the people, the owners from the bakery...possibly just gettting off work from the bakery. YOu can tell they built the lodging for the workers right next door, how nice.

Can't wait to stay in a room, but they are all booked up...good going.

I have to agree. Did not get a chance to eat there but thought the restaurant and bar looked great. We did spend the night in a room with the bathroom down the hall. Very clean and comfortable and the price was so reasonable, no wonder they sell out. Also went down the street to their bakery and had a terrific breakfast. Nice to have the hotel back in operation and the wonderful new addition to town of the bakery
