Water color?

So we got in on Saturday and we've been a little disappointed in the color of the water. It's not blue, or clear and a greenish lake water color? Is this just the time of year color?

Green is very normal for the Panhandle, thus the term "Emerald Coast".

Time of year can be a factor in terms of the amount of sunlight that may effect the hues of the water but, the bigger factors are storms out in the Gulf, the amount of rain there has been inland (which drains into the gulf), or the amount of algae/materials in the water.

If greenish, likely a bit cloudy/hazy.

Should be bluer, if sky is very clear.

We own property in PCB since 2015. The ocean in the panhandle is a greenish emerald color. It is different from the beaches on the east coast and west coast. There was a lot of rainwater runoff from the Tropical Storm Fred that just went through a week ago and could cause the water to be a little hazy color of green but green is the everyday color for the Panhandle. We were there a week ago and there was a lot of jellyfish in different parts of the beach....so be careful. Hope this helps. The color is nothing to be alarmed about.
