Yes, most of the lizards in Florida are brown anoles, the only native to Florida is the green anoles, see www.wildherps.com/species/A.carolinensis.html

Caribbean beach resort was awesome for wildlife. We had lizards, birds, rabbits, snakes, frogs, fish, turtles and a few ants!!!!!!!!!

Actually, does anyone know what type of turtles they would have been. It was fresh water and they had long noses with long extending necks and flat flippers??

Yeah it was a softshell, they just came right out of the water and ate out of our hands! Thanks for the link.

Also whats the name of the white birds with the long red beaks that are everywhere?

more than likely, they are white ibis

…cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/…White_Ibis.html

they are kinda smallish as are cattle egrets but the cattle egrets don't have red beaks...white herons are much larger and usually don't have the red beak either

feeding a softshell turtle by hand is not a good idea -- it's never a good idea to feed wildlife, as they lose their fear of people -- and end up being killed or maimed by someone cruel enough to take advantage.

softshells also have extremely powerful jaws -- we used to wave sticks in front of them just to watch them snap them in two with a single bite. The same thing happens to fingers.

Please leave wildlife in the wild!

We had a possum on our porch last year. Just opened the door one evening and there he was! Cute little thing but didn't disturb it. It just sloped off eventually.

Loads of lizards, raccoons and love bugs as well!
