inexpensive restaurants

I have never been to naples before and I know that it is known to be an expensive area. Are there any non chain restaurants you would recommend that are not too expensive

Here is blog from Menuguy about dining inexpensively in Naples

http://www.menuvenueswfl.com/blog/?p=32

Damico & Sons on Neopolitan Way and Rt 41 is an excellent casual Italian restaurant by the owners of one of the best upscale Italian restaurants in Naples, Campiello's. You should definitely try them.

Also try Paddy Murphey's on Fifth Avenue South

Pinchers Crab Shack at Tin City

Hope this helps. I will post more if I can think of them.

Enjoy!

Mel's Diner(s), Foxboro's, Alice Sweetwater. Actually there are many reasonable and casual places. Just stay away from the waterfront, or 5th Av, or 3rd St.

I second Mel's Diner. There are several in Naples, and they have good food in large portions. They sometimes run a breakfast special (weekdays only, I think) that's very economical.

Thanks for using my blog mama! I hope it helps some cost conscience people. I think we are all thinking of cost a little more these days.

Cheers

I agree with D'Amico, Mel's for breakfast, Carrabba's, and the German restaurant behind Mel's in Naples. (Sorry, I can't recall the name). Many restaurants have reasonable fixe price menus, so for example you can dine reasonably inexpensive at them. Check out the websites for Ridgeway Bar & Grill, Stoneys Steakhouse, Bayside, EVOO Bistro, and Bayshore (all offer 3 course meals at $29pp or less).
