Red tide? Or false alarm.

Saw a red tide warning sign at the beach by the pier today, but no red tide. What's up?

You can follow current status of red tide on this website: colliercountyfl.gov/your-government/division… It will also show what the levels mean as far as respiratory status and fish kills.

You don't really see red tide but it's there.

I was at Vanderbilt Beach all day Sunday. I saw a couple dead fish and I did have a tickle in my throat when I first got there. It didn't bother me for long, and it has been worse. The water was still blue and some people were really bothered by it. It could be gone soon, just check the map each day.
