South Beach vs Mid Beach vs North Beach

I'm planning to come to Miami for a couple of days, but mainly looking to profit from the Beach and Sea.

Which Beach is the most nicer, and good to have kids swimming, with white Sand and good environment ?

Miami Beach is a single barrier island along the coast of Miami.

North and South are simply parts of the same place.

Do you want a big resort with a pool and restaurants or a smaller hotel property to be more on your own?

Much depends upon your budget and trip dates too.

Enter your travel dates and budget in the TripAdvisor search engine to see what hotels suit your style. Search post code 33139 to be by the sea. You could also rent a condo via airbnb in the same post code.

South Beach 1-25 streets is the most active (shops, restaurants, bars).

Good Family resort = Loew's

Mid/North Beach is a little more quiet and travel to the active area is easily done.

Family resorts - 1 Hotel, Edition, Fontainebleau, Palms, Carillon

There are less restaurants and bars and shops to walk to in Mid-Beach than South Beach so a resort with restaurants and bars on site makes it easy if you plan to relax and play in the pool - spa/gym/be together.

Check out GOOGLE MAP to see the geography of the area:

The water is the same all along Miami beach and so is the sand. No difference. The differences will be the neighborhoods next to the beach. South Beach between 5th st. and 23rd st has the most action for young adults. Lots of tourists along here from all over the world. When I stay in SOBe there is noise on the sidewalks until 4 or 5 am. its a party town. South of 5th, is more residential. 25th St to 65th st is mid beach. There are mostly high rise hotels and high rise condos along here. I never have been to these beaches. North beach is more family friendly. There is a tree filled park between about 75th st to 90th st. which separates the beach from the main rd. Collins. There are a number of kid playgrounds which are used by the residents. North beach would be for families with kids. It gets quiet there after 10 or 11 pm.

Beach is the same just the amount of restaurants and people in the area. South Beach is packed with people and restaurants. Mid Beach is less so and North Beach even less so.

If you just want to enjoy swimming with your family, you should go to the beach at North Shore Open Space Park located between 79th St and 87th St.
