in a word … none .

The beaches are all man made and tiny . If you are looking for a "beach vacation", The keys aren't it .

If you are looking for an amazing and unique waterfront area .. by all means

Best beach would be the reach /casa marina. But “best” is relative. Key West beaches aren’t very good

I think the reach has the better beach but pier house and casa all have small private ones as well.

I know it won't be myrtle beach or OBX but just looking for somewhere to lay out other than a pool. We were there 10 years ago. We are going the beginning of October for our 25th anniversary.

I think it was The Reach we stayed at 10 years ago. Yea, a small beach. Just wondering if there are any other hotels or Resorts with beaches.

However you describe the beach at the Pier House - man-made, small, whatever - if they didn't have one I'd probably stay next door at the Ocean Key.

We stayed at Sheraton Suites across the street from Smathers Beach. We enjoyed being able to go back to the beach in the afternoon, relax, before heading back out for dinner.

Negatives: you are walking distance to nothing, except the beach.

The beach itself was small, but fine. A lot of sea grass and a very soft sandy floor. No waves.

The hotel had a nice pool, and a shuttle that dropped you off at Conch Republic.

Here is my TR outlining the positives and some negatives:

Well South Beach in Key West wasn’t swimmable or even worth getting in the water last month.

We always stay at The Pier House. My wife is a beachaholic....and the beach at the Pier House does the trick for two reasons. It has sand and sun. She never goes into the water so she has no complaints. You have a bar, restaurant and usually entertainment, with your own private bathroom right in your own room.
