Plentry of trails to walk in the park mostly of the main park road. I and many posters recommend the Shark Valley tram tour for visitors new to the park. Bring bug spray.

The everglades are on the main Florida peninsula -- you can't get to them by boat at all.

We go by boat. The Everglades are everywhere down here. We've been by airboat, too. We've been by kayak. Car.

The Everglades National Park has a concessionaire for the nature boat ride on site. It is not an airboat, as they are too noisy and are not allowed in the Park. There are airboat rides around Everglades City but not going into the park. We never took one, they are very noisy. Also, there are footpaths running off US 41 where you can go off and see the everglades areas, the best we think is called Big Cypress Oasis Visitors Center, nearby off Tamiami Trail. That one is free and there are always lots of wild alligators dozing in the sun along the canal boardwalk. Also there is a path into the swamp for the more adventurous. Hiking around the Everglades area opportunities abound.
