Is that off I10??
Yes, it is.
If you stop in Metairie, try Sleep Inn & Suites at 4601 Utica St. It's clean and safe.
While you're in LA, if you get an envie for a really great roast beef or seafood poboy, I highly recommend Short Stop Poboys at 119 Transcontinental Dr, which is less than 3 miles away. Ice cold beer by the bottle or pitcher too! I have no affiliation with either place - I just grew up in Metairie ;)
PS: skip the free breakfast! Instead, grab coffee & beignets at Cafe du Monde (4700 Veterans Memorial Hwy, less than 1 mile from the hotel).
Enjoy your trip!Edited: 09 August 2018, 02:34
Domestic E now I want to take this route just for breakfast!
Just be sure to get a poboy for the road!
Not that you'll be able to eat in the car - you'll have to stop somewhere. Short Stop's roast beef poboys are gloriously sloppy! Short Stop's been our whole family's go-to "fast food" place for many years. Can't beat the french bread in the NOLA area :)
Big uproar: pitchers have gone up to $6.25, but you can get still get a pint for $2.19 lol
Thnx for all the advice!! Going 9/13.
I was thinking the same thing. I'd come across 12 and stay in Covington, Longer and more traffic if you dip down to NO on 10.
