Delray Beach looking for short walk and facilities

We will be in Delray Beach in April and would love to go to the beach. Is there anywhere we can park our car that is close to beach and washroom facilities without a long walk (walking issues).

Thanks so much.

why not use Uber or Lyft and not worry about either walking or parking?

Parking is not so much the issue - we need an area that is not such a long walk to the beach. But txs for input.

I am not sure about your question but the beach has parking right on the street alongside the beach and there is also a lot right across the street for parking.

The lot right across the street has bathrooms. It is right across the street. Very close.

we parked last year at the lot across the street. Crossing the busy street was ok. But then there was all the wooden stairs going up to long wooden walkway with the facilities there. Then another longer walk on sand to get to the water. That is the walking I am talking about. It is a bit much when carry chairs and the like. Anywhere with shorter walk? tx

It sounds like you were not at the main beach that is right off Atlantic Avenue which is the main drag at Delray Beach. You were at a different beach whose name escapes me---maybe called Dunes?? That is about a mile south of the main beach. The main beach is the one across the street from the Marriott Hotel and the Luna Rosa Restaurant. That is where the parking is directly on the street and where the public parking lot with facilities are. The beach you were at is actually our favorite but it is not the main beach area. You might try calling the Chamber of Commerce there and asking them to send you a map of the town. I am probably not explaining this very well.

Check out Atlantic Dunes Park along the beach just North of Linton. Supposed to have dedicated handicap access & beach wheel chair available. Check Delray Beach city web site for more info.

He was at Atlantic dunes park but we were just there and there is a big construction project going on there now and there is no handicap parking now. Unless you need a wheelchair the main beach is more accessible. There is not parking right by the beach at the dunes right now at all.
