Questions re Delray Beach

From posting on other local forums Delray Beach has been recommended as perhaps the best place we are looking for post cruise so am looking for some help.

We disembark at Fort Lauderdale but have been to Fort Lauderdale before so want something new. We will be there for 3 days towards end February. We want somewhere where we can walk to nice shops and restaurants during the day and in the evening. Not sure if it helps but as a comparison we have enjoyed Naples and Sarasota e.g. so these type of places is anyone has been there. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Las Olas area in Fort Lauderdale is similar in feel to Atlantic Avenue in Delray. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Historic hotel in Fort Lauderdale is The Riverside and in Delray is The Colony Hotel. Each hotel you can walk out front and walk to many restaurants and shops. The Colony in Delray has a shuttle to a beach club right on the ocean with pool and restaurant. Very nice experience.
