Christmas at Clearwater

We are staying at the Marriott Clearwater for 5 nights over Christmas as a few days of relaxation in between the theme parks. We have never been before and will have our 10 year old daughter with us. Any ideas of what to do plus how to make sure Christmas is made special would really be appreciated. I just don't know where to begin!

Thanks Anneen

Aside from playing on the beach, she might like to tour the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It's a smaller aquarium/sealife rescue and rehab center on the beach. They offer up-close tours and have a nice gift shop.

A dolphin sighting cruise.

Putt-putt golf is also on the beach.

Kids love Captain Memos Pirate ship cruise.

Many thanks for this info. Do you know if things shut up for Christmas Day or do we have to make dinner reservations etc in advance? Have emailed the hotel but have had no response as of yet. Think it may be to do with it being a global email address as opposed to one specific to Marriott at Clearwater.

99% of stores, restaurants, etc., will be closed on Christmas. Hotel restaurants are almost always open, and/or offer a holiday dinner for their guests. I doubt you'd need dinner reservations as most people are home or with family that day, but can't hurt to ask - or to make a reservation - if you intend to eat at the hotel. Know that most places close early on Christmas eve as well - by mid-late afternoon...
