Couples Trip July 20-24

We are doing an anniversary trip July 20-24. We enjoy biking, hiking, and wine tasting. We are staying in La Jolla at a SeBreeze condo at Windansea beach.

What kind of bikers and hikers are you? Casual? Serious?

Here is some information on casual bike rides in San Diego: thebikerevolution.com/category/…

For short hikes, check out Torrey Pines State Reserve. For longer hikes you have to travel east. pacificsandiego.com/things-to-do/health-fitn…

Thanks. We are pretty serious bikers and hikers while at home but looking for very casual activities while in California.

I am more of a casual bike rider, but many of my friends like to do a ride up the coast either part of the way or all the way to Oceanside, then return the same way or take the train from Oceanside to Solana Beach and ride back from there. The ride to Oceanside is about 26 miles. The hill at Torrey Pines State Reserve is challenging on the way back.

For a casual bike ride, start at WindanSea and just go south through residential areas until you reach Pacific Beach and Mission Beach where you can ride on the "boardwalk" along the ocean. It goes all the way down to the end of the peninsula, and you can either ride back the same way or ride along the bay side (Bayside Lane).

Torrey Pines is a gorgeous hike. You also might want to do Potato Chip Mountain.
