Day use of spa at Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel

Has any one used the spa recently? I would like to soak in the pools and get a massage. Are the pools hot enough? Is 65 degree outside temp too cold for using the pools?

Are there any other spas with multiple hot pools that allow day use? I know I can get a list of all the spas on-line but some inside information would be appreciated. Thank you

there are many choices and many different prices. But most hotels have some version of day spa. the larger hotels have more availability and are cheaper. The chic small places charge more and have limited space but are nicer, quieter and more exclusive. The deserthotsprings.com site is useful.

Don't go to Desert Hot Springs Hotel. Please don't. It offers day use for it's pools and well, you won't like it. HOWEVER, they have a sister hotel right next door called Miracle Springs Hotel and it is just beautiful. The day spa is absolutely fabulous and very clean. You will be very happy with Miracle Springs. The only good thing I can say about the Desert Hot Springs Hotel is that the diner has pretty good greasy spoon food. Try Miracle Springs, it's right next door..........

Have a fabulous time:)

Thank you for the reply. I will check out the Miracle Springs the next time I am in Palm Desert. We did not go to the Desert Hot Springs spa. The reviews scared us.

I have not read those reviews but the pools for soaking are perfectly nice at the Desert Hot Springs Hotel. IF you were talking about getting a massage then I don't know about that but IF you want to soak in hot springs water then it is a decent enough place to do it.

Thanks for the reply riffsmom. When were you there? I was inquiring for February temperatures.

I was actually just there this past May.

I have also been in the area in January.

The pools themselves are from natural hot springs and so are warm year round. The pool temps don't change just the outside air temps change!

BTW I am not necessarily advocating actually staying at the hotel although many folks seem to enjoy it. It is certainly not "posh" .

The hotel mentioned above that is across the parking lot seems newer and more upscale.

You could certainly stay in Palm Springs and go soak for a day with a day pass.

You can also "take the waters" and enjoy a hot springs soak at the Casino Hotel in Palm Springs. The other hotels there don't have the natural water.

Very pricey for day use (I believe it's only available with treatments), but Two Bunch Palms in Desert Hot Springs is very exclusive and has natural mineral water in its beautiful hot water grotto.

I was referring to TBP being expensive. $5 a day is a great deal, perhaps I'll try it next trip.
