Moonstone Landing or Little Sur Inn are two of the more "modernized" lodgings in Cambria. El Colibri would be another, but there are no view rooms there. The Best Western Fireside Inn is another option. Cambria Lodge, while not on or near the ocean, went through a remodel a few years ago. It's a nice property on several wooded acres above the East Village. They have several suite rooms that would work nicely for a family.
The Blue Dolphin has a very modern vibe.
I don't know exactly what you mean by "young." Kids? Or young adults? The Blue Dolphin doesn't welcome guests under 18.
The Pelican Inn has also been renovated recently. But I found the rooms larger at the Blue Dolphin.
Cambria Pines Lodge has a great pool and live music in the evening but maybe your kids won't fancy that. We (seniors) loved it.Edited: 30 May 2014, 17:32
Really appreciate your input.
Thanks for your reply. Kids are 30 but definitely have different taste than we do.
Kids are 30 but definitely have different idea about vacation destinations than we do.
