You really can't go wrong with any of those options. Pretty much all the hotels on Moonstone Beach Drive are a good bet.
In February we stayed at the Pelican Inn with an "ocean front" room. (Sorry to say I still haven't written a review.)
Of course all the lodgings on Moonstone Beach are on the other side of the road from the ocean but we could hear it and had a nice patio. But it's a large property by the standards of the area and it would appear that many rooms have little or no interaction with the coast.
The Blue Dolphin doesn't allow kids, BTW.
Honestly, the best placed lodgings in relation to the ocean are Moonstone Landing and Sand Pebbles Inn. These offer the best views because they're elevated and the water line comes closest to Moonstone Beach Drive. Fog Catcher and Pelican Inn kind of sit in a hole. While cute on the outside, they would not be my first choice for an overnight stay.
I have stayed at the Fireside Inn and was happy with it. The room was large, had a fireplace and a patio looking out toward the ocean.
Thank you for your feedbacks. I decided to stay at the FogCatcher Inn because there are four of us and a pet.
Other hotels have room for maximum of 2 person per room.
Fog Catcher is a great choice! Right across the street from the Moonstone Beach. Let us know how you like it when you return! :)
