Dominical in early September?

Understanding that it's the rainy season, are there places to stay where the view and the rain is still glorious and when we have breaks in the rain, we can run out and enjoy the beach and nature?

Do not hesitate to go to Dominical in early September. The "rainy season" not withstanding it is simply a wonderful time to visit. You need not "run out to enjoy" the beach and nature as there is a lot more sunny weather than rain. Generally, the mornings are sunny with gathering clouds between 1 and 3:00PM with a shower at 3:30 for a couple of hours. There will also be showers during most of the nights. That said though, the concept of "climate change" is not unknown in Costa Rica and some mornings may be cloudy. There is a saying however, that says, "la mañana oscura, el tarde segura." Although grammatically incorrect, is generally true. If the morning is cloudy, you will have a sunny afternoon. There are lots of places to stay in the area; many with "glorious views" and wonderful spots to enjoy the rainy part of the day reading in a hammock or just having a beer while talking over your most recent adventure. The rates are generally lower during this time of the year and the crowds are non existent. Although a few of the high end restaurants close during part of the low season, early September should be little different than any other time of the year. Enjoy.
