a flea market in sedona arizon

My mother in law will be visiting the area at the end of May. She was told there is a flea market or a big yard sale with all kinds of art, crafts etc. I cant find any info on this event. We arent even sure what its called. We think its Sedona yard sale. She's old, please excuse her. But if there is any one that might have a thought of what this event is please respond. Very important to older people you know.

Thanks,

Mother in law pleaser.

I visited an open-air arts and crafts market that was in a parking lot in the Village of Oak Creek just outside Sedona. Perhaps that is what she in thinking of? You might be able to google the Chamber of Commerce visitor centers for both Sedona and Village of Oak Creek to see if they have any scheduled arts & crafts events going on.

There are several places where vendors set up tents and tables to sell arts and crafts on weekends. They include the Outlet Center and also the Bell Rock Plaza, both in the Village of Oakcreek. Additionally the native people have roadside markets in Oak Creek Canyon at Indian Gardens and also at the top of the headwall in the turnout area on the way to Flagstaff (or the Grand Canyon beyond)

The shopping center events are weekends only and do NOT happen every weekend. They usually target dates around holidays and busy tourism weekends in Sedona, but they are usually advertised in advance in The Red Rock News, our local paper. The Chamber of Commerce MAY have additional information about dates in advance. The native markets in the canyon are pretty much daily events except for really bad weather. We don't get much of that around here.

And finally, there are usually a large number of estate/yard/garage sales around town every Friday and Saturday. They are advertised in the classified section of the aforementioned Red Rock News which is published every Wed and Fri.

Tell your dear MiL to pick up the paper and get a map of the town when she gets here and she can plan her Friday and Saturday morning shopping adventures. She'll discover there's a whole cult of people who line up at these private homes every Fri and Sat. Or maybe she already knows...

Howdy, perhaps she heard about the Saddle Rock Barn which really does look like a constant yard sale! Great place in West Sedona.

Yard sales are a really fun event in Sedona. We have some real pros. You can have a yard sale yourself only to find the buyer reselling it at their yard sale. There are also Estate Sales that are great. GO EARLY though. It's a great way to get a real look at who Sedonians are!

Have fun and happy shopping!
