How far is the Tortilla Flat Saloon from Scottsdale?

This looks like a fun saloon to visit giving you a old west feel. My father (senior) loves western's and wanted to go somewhere that may give him a feel for this. I was looking originally at the cookout at Rawhide but hear its kinda cheezy and more for young kids.

Any other good options?

It's about 45 miles, from central Scottsdale, but takes about 1.5-2 hours drive. Then there is the Goldfield Ghost Town, a reenactment kind of place. Has more than Tortilla Flat, but about the same time to get there.

It took me about an hour on a week day from north Scottsdale. It is worth going beyond Goldfield Ghost Town for the scenery. You go there Loop 101 to US 60, and go back Usery Pass to Bush Hwy to Beeline - stop at Saguaro Lake.

You can also head to Reata Pass or Pinnacle Peak Steahouse in far north Scottsdale, or Harold's or Horny Toad in Cave Creek. Any of these would be a good lunch or dinner option.

Imo 1.5 hours is more realistic for a first time visitor. If you are going to Tortilla Flat also make use of the restroom.........

I had read that you should bring your cameras to the restroom..

We are going to Cowboy Club in Sedona as well for dinner would this be comparable to this tortilla flat or enough to save this 1 hour drive to get your country western fill? :O)

Scottsdale we are going to dine at:

Carolina's Mexican for 1st lunch

Ranch Market/Tradiciones or both for a lunch/dinner

Carlsbad Tavern (happy hour/dinner)

Roaring Fork/Wildfish

Humble Pie

We will need a restaurant for 4 lunches and 3 dinners.

Trying to try out some of the fun non-chain restaurants that in around Scottsdale/phoenix has to offer.

No, Cowboy club is not like Tortilla Flat. It also is a very scenic drive from Apache Junction to Tortilla flat. Curvy road and many Saguaro's. 5 miles past Tortilla Flat the unpaved section of Apache Trail (az88) starts.

Be sure and stop at Rick Springs Cafe on your way from Phoenix to Sedona. It is an old stagecoach stop and has a lot of antiques and western stuff in the dining rooms. Food and pies are good and it has that western atmosphere, along with it's a great intro into the Southwest after flying into PHX.
