Iguazu Falls - Transportation AR to BR and Itinerary

Hello -

Here's what I'm thinking in terms of itinerary to my trip to Iguazu

December 16th, arriving (3 of us) to IGR at 10:55 a.m.

Head directly to falls on the Brazil side

- how much is a taxi from IGR to Brazil Falls? How long will it take?

Do Brazil side that day and spend the night at Foz do Iguacu

December 17th - wake up early and head to AR side.

- what is the easiest and cheapest way to go from hotel in BR to AR falls?

Do falls in AR the whole day and then head to airport to catch plane at 10 p.m. IGR.

Any suggestions, recommendations or help is greatly appreciated it!!

Hello KarenV8,

Your question as to easiest and cheapest transportation question;

Easiest = Taxi. Taxi saves a lot of time. No waiting on a bus from airport which takes you to downtown Puerto Iguazu, AR terminal where you have to change buses.to BR. The bus has to stop at immigrations and all passengers are processed. Then you have to go to the BR immigration's office (no drive up windows on BR side as on the AR side) Have your passports stamped in the office, then wait for a BR bus to the falls. (remember you have luggage). A Taxi has it's own immigration line on the AR side and will help you through. Ask the driver to stop at the BR Immigration's office (you do not want to enter illegally) Driver will help again. Then to the BR falls. BR falls have lockers for a small fee for your baggage.

Cheapest = Bus. But loose valuable time.

Pack a few "Ziploc" bags to keep documents and electronics dry. Even without a boat trip to the falls there is a lot of mist and humid. This time of year showers/thunder storms pop up in the afternoon, just as in Fla.

Below is a little info on transportation. It is a little outdated but close.;

The same goes for returning from a BR hotel to AR. AR falls have lockers also.

Enjoy,

Marty
