T-shirt sizes

I've been following the posts on t-shirt sizes and it seems that men (and women?) need to buy tops two sizes larger to get an equivalent of a UK size.

The thing is I'm a 2xl but like to wear baggy t-shirts so I like to wear 3xl t-shirts.

Does this mean I need to buy 5xl t-shirts in Turkey and are they available, or should I bring my collection with me? I was trying to cut down on carrying stuff on the plane.

I'm just after plain t-shirts NOT the football ones.

Thanks

I measure the width of my t-shirts at home then take a tiny tape measure with me on holiday and check the widths in the shops, it always meets with great amusement!

Good thinking!

I may take my 3m Stanley Powerlock.

On second thoughts it weighs too much in my case!

Hi John H,

from my experience, there's no exact science on this, some t-shirts will be as your size at home, others will be too small and on the rarest of occasions you may find too big.

So if you are to buy anything, then try before you buy is the best way to shop.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Adam

Thanks for that advice you two.

The only thing I need to know now is are extra large t-shirts available in Hisarona or Fetihye?

Thanks again folks.

My neighbour is an XXL and he said while on holiday last week in Marmaris all the XXXL ones there were to small but he went onto a boat trip and he cant remember the name of the island but they had XXXL ones that fit him perfect so it's a mixed bag like Adam says.

Funny thing is he had shorts and a top on while having a drink with me out the front of our homes and my step daughter came out and said "Alan are you wearing your pyjamas" Lol.....

Yes they are John, we always use JD Sports in Hisaronu, not the cheapest, however exceptional quality that lasts the test of time.

In Oludeniz, they used to be a shop on the main strip that had a larger than life mannequin (spell check?) out front modelling up to 7 XL.

If it's still there you will know where I am on about as you won't miss it.

Happy shopping.

Cheer Adam

I always take a tape measure, not a metal one but a dressmaker's one.
